Data privacy policy

Version 2026-07-09 · Last updated 9 July 2026

This policy explains how SoftwareVision ("we", "us") processes personal data when you create an account and apply for a role through the Attack recruiting portal at attack.softwarevision.ch ("the portal").

1. Data controller

The data controller responsible for your personal data is SoftwareVision, Switzerland.

For privacy-related questions or to exercise your rights, contact us at info@softwarevision.ch.

2. What data we collect

Depending on how far you progress in your application, we may process:

  • Account data: full name, email address, the role you are applying for, and a password stored in hashed form by our authentication provider.
  • Personal information: date of birth, nationality or nationalities, languages spoken with proficiency levels, and Swiss work permit status.
  • Application documents: your CV, grade transcript (if provided), an optional reason if you skip the grade transcript, and any optional notes you provide.
  • DISC assessment: your responses and the resulting personality profile used in our recruitment process.
  • Pitch video: a video file you upload as part of your application.
  • Perform assessment (for certain roles): session timing, written findings about a target website, optional screenshots, optional GitHub repository links you submit, and related metadata.
  • Interview scheduling: if you reach the interview stage, booking details you provide through Microsoft Bookings and Microsoft Teams meeting information for the interview itself.
  • Recruitment workflow data: application status, step progress, timestamps, internal reviewer ratings, and recruiter notes.
  • Communications: transactional emails we send about your application (for example account confirmation, welcome, upload confirmation, step updates, step reminders, and interview reminders).
  • Technical data: session cookies required to keep you signed in, and standard server logs needed to operate the portal securely.

3. Why we use your data

We process your personal data to:

  • create and manage your applicant account;
  • receive, review, and evaluate your job application;
  • communicate with you about your application status;
  • schedule and conduct interviews;
  • maintain audit trails of submissions and recruiter decisions; and
  • protect the portal against misuse and technical failures.

The legal basis is the performance of pre-contractual measures at your request (your application), our legitimate interest in running a fair and efficient recruitment process, and, where applicable, compliance with legal obligations. Where Swiss data protection law or the GDPR applies, we rely on the grounds described above.

4. Who receives your data

Access is limited to authorised SoftwareVision recruiters and administrators who need the data to assess applications. We use trusted service providers that process data on our behalf, including:

  • Supabase — authentication, database hosting, and secure file storage for uploaded documents and videos.
  • Resend — delivery of transactional emails.
  • Microsoft Bookings and Teams — interview scheduling and video meetings when you book a slot with us.
  • Hetzner — hosting of the web application in the European Union.

These providers may process data in Switzerland, the European Economic Area, or other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

5. Retention

We keep application data for as long as needed to complete the recruitment process and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can respond to follow-up questions, defend legal claims, or comply with retention duties under employment and tax law. When data is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it.

If your application is unsuccessful, we may retain your profile for a limited time in case a suitable future role arises, unless you ask us to delete your data sooner.

6. Security

We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of recruitment data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, row-level database security, and restricted admin access. No online system is completely secure; please use a strong, unique password and keep your login details confidential.

7. Your rights

Under applicable Swiss data protection law and, where relevant, the GDPR, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • request correction of inaccurate data;
  • request deletion, subject to legal retention requirements;
  • restrict or object to certain processing;
  • receive a copy of data you provided in a portable format; and
  • lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

To exercise these rights, email info@softwarevision.ch. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

The portal uses essential cookies and similar technologies to maintain your login session and protect the service. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies in the applicant portal.

9. Children

The portal is intended for applicants who are at least 16 years old. We do not knowingly collect data from younger individuals.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices or legal requirements change. If we make material changes, we will publish an updated version in the portal. When you create an account, we record which policy version you accepted and the time of acceptance.
